With Thought

Offline mode

With Thought keeps a copy of your people on your device, so a spotty signal never gets between you and someone's birthday.

What works when I'm offline?
Anything already downloaded to this device: your people, their profiles, dates, family, journal entries, gift ideas, lists, gift log and saved discovery guides. You can keep reading and keep making changes.
How do I make sure everything is available offline?
Open Settings and tap “Download my data”. That pulls your whole account onto this device in one pass, so you're not limited to the screens you happened to open. It's worth doing before a flight or a trip.
What happens to edits I make offline?
They're saved on your device and shown right away, then queued. The banner at the top tells you how many changes are waiting. As soon as you're back online they're sent in the order you made them, and the banner disappears once everything has landed.
Can I close the app with changes still pending?
Yes. The queue lives on your device, so closing the tab or restarting your phone won't lose anything. The changes go out the next time you open With Thought with a connection.
What if I edit the same thing on two devices?
The last change to reach the server wins. There's no merge step and nothing to resolve — in practice this is what you want for notes, birthdays and profile details.
What needs a connection?
Signing in and out, importing or exporting contacts, AI digestion and dictation, product links, email and reminder delivery, and admin or community gift review tools. Scratchpad drafts and saved gift guides remain available on your device.
Why doesn't offline mode work in a browser tab I've never opened before?
Your data is cached per device and per browser. Open the app once while online (and ideally run “Download my data”) and that device is ready to go offline.
Can I open the app with no connection at all?
On the published site, yes — add With Thought to your Home Screen or install it, and it will open straight from the device. In a plain browser tab that has never been installed, you may need a connection for the very first load.
